No need to take any special prescriptions before your hair restoration procedure. You have to stop any form of exercise for three days prior to your hair restoration procedure to minimize bleeding.
What about my daily medications?
Your primary care doctor will prescribe you your daily routine medications, it is important to remain taking them. Finally 1 week before surgery, no medication such as aspirin, anti-inflammatories (Advil, Motrin) must be used. All vitamins, herbs, and supplements (ginkgo, glucosamine) must be avoided. Especially relevant is the use of soft or hard drugs and alcohol they must be stopped.
The night before the hair transplant procedure you should eat and drink normally. Alcohol must not be consumed 48 hours prior to your procedure!
The procedure is relatively comfortable because your scalp is numb during the procedure. Also, The doctor can give you pain medication available for discomfort during the hair restoration procedure. Just let us know so we can keep you comfortable.
It is important to keep your head elevated during your sleep, use two to three pillows after the hair replacement procedure. Patients have some sleeplessness from this position change so it not uncommon. This sleeplessness typically improves quickly.
Important information for after the procedure
It is important to resume all routine daily medications on the day following your hair restoration procedure. Also, please continue to avoid aspirin, ibuprofen and the over-the-counter supplements. After three days following your procedure, you can use them again.
One week after your operation no Aerobic activity,
bending and straining. If you need a note for work or the gym, one will be provided for you upon request.
